SafeMail® Defense in Depth (DiD):
In 2001, SoBran was approached by the Department of the Army to develop and operate a comprehensive mail screening facility designed to protect high profile clients against the threat of mail borne chemical, biological, nuclear, radiological, and explosive threat. This ongoing project was the basis for the development of SoBran’s proprietary SafeMail® Defense in Depth program.
Originally designed to cover technical, operations, and logistics issues related to mail borne CBRNE threats, the program has evolved to cover all aspects of mail facility operations including facility design, technical integration, normal and emergency operations, internal and external security, emergency planning, internal and external team training and coordination, facility management and regulation compliance. Today, SafeMail® is viewed as the gold standard by which all other programs are measured. Our client base includes the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, General Service Administration, HKS Inc, Gannett Publishing, and IKON Inc. Key elements of the SafeMail® DID program include:
· On-site Risk Assessments
· Requirements Review and Consultation Services
· Operational, System, and Technical Architecture Design, Integration, and Implementation for New and Existing Facilities
· Operational Protocol Development and Implementation
· Basic and Advanced Training for Operators, Technicians, and First Responders
· Exercise Development, Planning, Execution, and Evaluation
· Long Term Technical and Operational Support
· Facility Operations and Management
Designed to protect high profile clients from man-made and natural threats, SafeMail® DID screening technology combines the most innovative and advanced technical solutions with proven and effective operational protocols. This approach has served as the foundation for the development and operation of the nation’s most demanding and highest profile screening facilities. Today, the SafeMail® DiD program forms the operational nucleus for critical infrastructure support facilities including the Department of Homeland Security’s Consolidated Remote Deliver Site and the Pentagon’s Remote Mail Screening Facility. It also served as the foundational process used in the provision of letter and package screening services for Senator John McCain’s Presidential Campaign and the mail screening area facility design at the Washington Headquarters Services facility.
