Amos L. Otis, MBA
Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Otis founded SoBran in 1987, spearheading the company's growth from a startup to a multi-million dollar technical and professional services enterprise. Prior to starting the company, Mr. Otis had a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as Titan ICBM Missile Combat Crew Commander; Production and Quality Assurance Specialist as the USAF Plant Representative at Hughes Aircraft Corporation; Cost Analyst for major weapons systems at the USAF Aeronautical Systems Division; Comptroller for the 8 th Tactical Fighter Wing in Korea; Professor of Air Science for the Howard University AFROTC program; and Program Manager at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. Mr. Otis has served as a consultant to the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences for Post-Doctoral Programs and to the partnership project of the Department of Defense/National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education.

Mr. Otis is a graduate of Tennessee State University, earned an MBA from the California State University, and holds a Masters of Military Art and Science. He has been repeatedly recognized for his management and entrepreneurial skills, as well as his civic leadership. Mr. Otis has a long-standing commitment to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and frequently mentors and assists small disadvantaged businesses and entrepreneurs. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the African Electrification Foundation, a member of the Executive Board of Donald W. Steele Senior Memorial Chapter of the Air Force Association, and a member of the Federal Comptroller Association. He is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity and a life member of Kappa Alphas Psi Fraternity.


Tom Bauer, CPL
Senior Vice President, Operations and Business Development

Mr. Bauer is a versatile professional with more than 25 years experience overseeing operations for logistics, engineering, and information technology companies. Prior to joining SoBran, he was Senior Vice President for C4ISR Programs for a public company, and Group Vice President of Engineering and Logistics for a rapidly growing engineering technology firm. He has directed engineering and logistics programs for all the armed forces branches, the National Institutes of Health, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, and the Federal Aviation Administration, among others. Mr. Bauer is a Certified Professional Logistician and a business graduate of Concordia College, with advanced studies at the Wharton School of Finance. He has lectured globally and published extensively on technical and supply chain issues.


Gregory Kelly, PhD
Vice President, Biomedical Research Services

Dr. Kelly heads SoBran's biomedical and environmental research support practice areas. An accomplished business leader and manager, Dr. Kelly has more than 22 years experience in conducting scientific research and heading large, complex research support programs. Prior to joining SoBran, he served as Assistant Vice President for a leading-edge biotechnology company, and founded and led a research services firm that served academic researchers, leading pharmaceutical and chemical firms, and government research initiatives. He has conducted and managed research in the field of molecular biology at government-sponsored laboratories and universities and in private industry. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his doctorate in molecular biology from Purdue University.
