SoBran
YEAR IN
ReviewMessage to the SoBran Team
As we progress through 2025, we want to take a moment to reflect on our 2024 collective achievements and express our gratitude for your unwavering dedication. The early months of this year have already demonstrated the significant impact of our work, and we are confident that, together, we are well-prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Across departments, we saw teams step up in remarkable ways. Whether it was supporting our clients in the field, traveling for critical radon mitigation work, or working through other disruptions, your dedication never wavered. Our teams demonstrated how reliable, responsive service is the SoBran standard—even under pressure.
Celebrating Our Outstanding Team Members
Our success is built upon the exceptional contributions of our employees. In 2024, we recognized several individuals whose exemplary performance set a high standard for excellence:
- David Steffan (January – March 2024): Serving as an Inventory Management Specialist at one of our federal government sites, David was honored for his cheerful attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to assist colleagues whenever needed.
- Tim Daughtery (April – June 2024): As a Research Technician in our BioScience Division at a Norfolk, Virginia animal research facility, Tim went above and beyond during staffing shortages, assisting with non-human primate and rabbit husbandry, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. His dedication and professionalism earned him high respect from coworkers and clients alike.
- Josiah Hamilton (July – September 2024): Working as a Veterinary Technician and Enrichment Specialist in our BioScience Division, Josiah consistently provided guidance and assistance during times of staff shortages. His exceptional skills, particularly with challenging rodent blood draw procedures, were highly regarded by both colleagues and clients.
- Michelle Pinero (October – December 2024): As an Administrative Specialist in our BioScience Division at a Norfolk, Virginia animal research facility, Michelle took on additional responsibilities during the Old Dominion University and Eastern Virginia Medical School merger process. Her availability and support for both customers and staff showcased her exceptional performance and commitment.
Among these distinguished individuals, Tim Daughtery was further recognized as the 2024 Employee of the Year, receiving the Cindy Carmichael Award. Tim's consistent dedication and instrumental role in achieving our company goals make him truly deserving of this honor.
Looking Ahead
As we continue through 2025, let us draw inspiration from these exemplary team members. Their commitment exemplifies the values that drive SoBran forward. By fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation, we will continue to navigate the evolving landscape and seize new opportunities.
If you see a challenge—or an opportunity—don’t hesitate to speak up. Every voice matters here. Our Business Development team is working hard to identify new pathways, but innovation often starts with those closest to the work. Your insight is essential.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication and hard work. Together, we will achieve remarkable success in 2025 and beyond.

Adam Oliver, Director of OperationsAs we reflect on 2024 and move confidently into the months ahead, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for the dedication, professionalism, and excellence you brought to another pivotal year for SoBran.
Throughout 2024, we continued to strengthen our operations, embrace change, and deliver on the trust our clients place in us. Whether in mail security, bioscience, logistics, or engineering support, your efforts made it possible for SoBran to not only meet expectations but to exceed them.
Our work last year laid the foundation for SoBran’s 2025 vision: Secure Today. Smarter Tomorrow. This direction speaks to who we are as an organization—forward-thinking, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement. From refining internal processes to anticipating the future needs of our clients, we are evolving in ways that position us for long-term success.
I'm especially proud of the role each of you has played in shaping that evolution. Your insights, shared through channels like the Employee Representative Board and ongoing feedback, have helped us identify growth opportunities, streamline how we work, and better support the people behind our success - you.
In 2024, we also took important steps to further professionalize our recruiting and onboarding, improve staff support, and strengthen our ability to respond quickly to shifting client needs. These operational gains are already proving critical as we take on new contracts and expand into new service areas in 2025.
Looking ahead, I encourage all of us to stay curious, collaborative, and client-focused. The strength of our past performance continues to open doors, but it’s our day-to-day commitment to excellence that keeps those doors open.
Thank you for all that you’ve contributed to SoBran’s continued success. I’m excited about what we’ll accomplish together this year and beyond.
