Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer
Amos Otis founded SoBran, Incorporated in 1987 after a distinguished 21-year career as an Air Force Officer. He has led SoBran from a lean start-up in the basement of his Fairfax County, Virginia home to a $61 million dollar company with diverse bioscience, engineering, logistics, and risk management expertise.
Amos founded SoBran based on the Air Force values of integrity, service and excellence. Under his leadership, SoBran has reached Inc. magazine’s list of America’s fastest-growing private companies and Black Enterprise magazine’s list of the top 100 industrial/service companies.
Amos has been recognized for his management and entrepreneurial skills as well as his civic leadership. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Cincinnati Branch in 2012. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dayton Development Coalition and a life member of the NAACP. He has also been profiled in Black Enterprise as an innovator in workforce readiness.
Gregory Kelly, PhD
Senior Vice President, Operations
Dr. Greg Kelly is the Senior Vice-President of Operations for SoBran, Inc. His primary responsibility includes the direction of SoBran’s operating divisions to include the BioScience Division, Engineering & Logistics Division and Technical Services Division. Additionally, Dr. Kelly provides oversight of SoBran’s Business Development efforts. He has been with SoBran since 2002. An accomplished business leader and manager, Greg has over 30 years’ experience conducting scientific research and directing large, complex research support programs. He has conducted and managed research in the fields of molecular biology and toxicology at government-sponsored laboratories and universities, and in private industry.
Under his leadership, SoBran’s bioscience research support has more than doubled, with significant expansions in contracting to the federal government, scientific and technical support for academic institutions, and initiation of contract research focused on preclinical toxicology.
Greg is active in a number of organizations including: The American Society for Microbiology, The College of Toxicology, The American Association for the Advancement of Science, The American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, The Tech Council of Maryland and the Greater Baltimore Committee.
In addition to his professional activities Greg serves as Vice Chairman of the Greater Baltimore Council, Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors. He received a bachelor's degree from University of Pittsburgh, cum laude, and a PhD in Biochemistry from Purdue University.
Vice President, Corporate Services
Bob directs the company’s contracts, security, human resources, accounting and IT services. He also leads business development initiatives in the Midwest region. Prior to joining SoBran, Bob managed third party supply chain management operations at NCR and data acquisition at LexisNexis. Bob was an officer in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and is a decorated veteran. While in the Air Force he held leadership positions in quality assurance, security, engineering and logistics. He received a Sociology degree from Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Alaska.
